First female grand marshal named at Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Bikers are gathering for the 77th Sturgis Motorcycle rally and have named their first female grand marshal.

Black Hills native Jessi Combs was selected as the rally's first ever female grand marshal and will lead the mayor's ride.

Combs was selected for her success in the auto industry where she is well known for both her building and racing skills.

She holds the high speed record and is considered the fastest woman on four wheels.

"Women are now being accepted, that times are changing, that we need to get to a younger demographic, that it's not always all about racing it's about the spirit of motorcycling and getting together and networking and creating a community where we all support each other," said Combs. She is currently creating a woman's line of welding gear to help other woman pursuing careers in the auto industry.
